Jose Bolivar's Bio
Jose discovered his gift for performing at an early age,
with his natural physical ability and background in
gymnastics and capoeira, he learned Break dancing
quickly. Eager to hone his skills in showmanship and
comedy; Jose and several of his friends began performing
and teaching in numerous Dance Clubs in Long Island and
Queens. Jose later became a member of the Bally Total
Fitness Performance Team. In 2002 Jose visited the
Copacabana in New York City and took an immediate
interest in Latin (salsa) dancing and joined a Ballroom Dance
School.
Jose studied Professional Ballroom and
Latin Style Dancing for over 3 years. He is trained in
Latin and Smooth dances as well as Hustle and Swing. He
has performed and competed in various Clubs and
Professional Competition events throughout the NYC area,
including performances at the Hispanic Heritage
Festival at Long Island University, CW Post Campus. Jose studied salsa with Eddie Torres, Angel Ortiz, and
a very popular school Piel Canela. Later Jose was hired
as a dance Instructor and managed the Salsa/Latin
Department. Jose has been teaching and performing for 6
years. During the day He is a certified personal trainer
with 8 years of experience, and at night a Latin
Instructor operating and directing his
Dance Studio.
Jose’s philosophy is that dancing helps
promote a healthy body, mind and spirit.
Jose is a proud member of the IHSC.

Hustle & Salsa Competition in Florida.
